Variety: Pink Bourbon

Process: Anaerobic Honey

Sourced by: Inconexus

Behold, the first honey-processed pink bourbon from BOTZ from El Sol. As self-proclaimed pink bourbon obsessives, the processing of this coffee opened our circles to a new pink bourbon dimension. Full disclosure – it leans jammy, fun, and intensely nostalgic.

For BOTZ, “memory zooms” are essential during our cuppings. If we feel transported, we believe there’s a high probability that the coffee might spark joy or a core flavor memory in another Botzonian’s favorite cup. Call it the honey-anaerobic processing – this coffee had us strolling down memory lane.

Oxford Bishop (mulled wine with port). Chilly nights in my favorite jacket winding through archaic alleys to meet my sister and our best friend Michel for mulled wine at The Turf. Feeling the warmth of the heat lamps, the sugary citrus intensity and the red rush from mulled wine served in my favorite glass. All while pretending I was in Hogwarts…accio v60!

Livewire (orange Mountain Dew). As much as we loved video games, there was nothing more pertinent for our gaming crew than defending your favorite Dew flavor. Traditional (looking back these were probably the coolest people…classic), Code Red, Livewire, Dew Voltage, Pitch Black (insanely good Halloween release)…the list goes on and on. No matter where you went, you had your Dew showing all others your allegiance to your flavors. And yes, if you are wondering, I was ride or die with Livewire’s orangey crisp bounce till the end. I may carry a bag of El Sol in the same fashion in Livewire’s honor.

On the BOTZ production system, we find this coffee to lean jammy and melded (depending on the brew, sometimes it leans berry and other times peach). In comparison to the clarity we find with some of the other washed pink bourbons we’ve featured, we find the sweetness and weight of this release to be the coffee’s main strengths. Although rich and heavy like an aged port, there’s still a substantial orange-soda-like-acidity zip that helps the coffee slide across the palate. We don’t taste many pink bourbons with honey-processing, so we hope you enjoy this unique BOTZ bean!

***Please note - roasting and fulfillment will take place from 2/10 – 2/16. Beans will ship on 2/18 (with our hope of shipping earlier if we can)!***
