The Legend of Shark Tooth came to be after witnessing an amazing individual shake off a joke made in reference to one of their teeth (…called a Shark Tooth). Instead of getting angry, sad, or deflated, they remained calm, compassionate, and controlled. The individual decided to choose the higher road, and it stuck with us forever. From that moment on, we started using Shark Tooth as a playful phrase to remind us how we can approach adversity (SHARK FACT - Did you know that in a shark’s lifetime, it can grow up to 50,000 teeth? In less than 24 hours, a tooth that was lost can be regrown. Quite literally, a shark tooth BOUNCES BACK.).
Failed roast? Go again, Shark Tooth. Cooling tray open when you drop a batch? Close it, dude (LOL), Shark Tooth. Ikawa breaks because the mini beans clog the system? Clean the fins and modify the air settings, Shark Tooth.
Basha Bekele’s mini beans (same process as Hambella UGs, but with Basha’s highest elevation natural lots) inspire us with the Shark Tooth get-back. The flavor is immensely blue (think blueberry and tropical ocean color) with pops of yellow fruits like pineapple and mango. Its flavor reminds us of the original coffee that spurred the blue-gummy-shark flavor into existence (Anyone remember the story of #13…?). When you sip it, we hope it inspires you to think…Shark Tooth.
